Helping Your Child Overcome Severe Reading Challenges — Dyslexia

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Diana Finch and the Dyslexia Rescue. I had both my girls ages 9 and 12, in this program for almost one year. The difference it has made in their reading, their homework, their independence, their confidence, their comprehension, and their overall understanding of the English language has been mind blowing. Diana is at the top of her game nationwide, and knows how to relate to the child, to be loving yet firm, to challenge them, to find out really where the visual processing issues lie and most importantly to get to the root cause of their challenges. We have referred her to many other families and I know that she’s going to continue to help touch so many lives. Diana was a joy to work with as a parent, the firm schedule kept everybody in line and set expectations. Communication was always exceeded expectations, very thorough and personalized to the situation, she really took time to understand my children, their disabilities and what challenges they faced. And communicated every step of the way what they were learning and what breakthroughs they had, which is important to celebrate along the way with them. Working with her on Zoom worked out great. She was able to do everything she would do in the classroom situation. If you’re looking to have someone by your side to push your child to the next level and to sort out any reading issues, please invest the time and energy and money, to work with Diana. I can say it’s probably the best decision you could make for your child’s future.

We were really struggling with teaching our daughter the basics of reading for years. She was very resistant to learn and seemed like no matter how hard we tried, she would flip her letters around and have trouble retaining what she learned. She dreaded the thought of school, and it kept getting worse year after year. We took her to a neuropsychiatrist and they diagnosed her with ADHD and dyslexia. Now that we had that information, we weren’t sure what to do with it. Luckily, my wife found Dyslexia Rescue and signed her up. My daughter is the age of a second grader but her reading skill level was that of early stage kindergarten when we started with Dyslexia Rescue. Diana said she could have her at a 2nd grade level in a few months. That sounded way too good to be true to me, but we had hope and had nothing to lose. The first session with Diana I could see the “magic” happen. Diana has so many years of experience, relates to the struggles the children are having, and has far more patience than my wife and I. Within a few sessions, our daughter was sounding out words. Within a few weeks she was reading full sentences and getting through short books. We are excited to see our daughter grow and gain even more confidence with reading in the next few months. I cannot recommend Dyslexia Rescue enough, it surely has rescued us!

Our son struggled with vision issues when he was in preschool which led to delay in phonemic awareness. He showed frustrations daily with reading and writing. Dyslexia Rescue worked with him 3 days a week for 6 months to not only work on phonemic awareness and reading but boosting his self confidence with his school work. All of the hard work paid off!

This program absolutely works. My child joined during her first grade summer break because she was three reading levels behind and had poor comprehension . She did double classes to catch her up and she did!!! I’m more than confident that she is now at her reading and comprehension level and ready for second grade. Each teacher allowed my child to feel comfortable and at ease to be able to learn each lesson properly. If your children need help with reading and comprehension this is the place to go.

My wife and I have fraternal twin boys. They are now in 2nd grade. One of them, after repeated conversations with his teacher, came out of kindergarten not even knowing the alphabet. We knew there was something wrong, but the school told us he was young and immature. His twin, however, was progressing. It didn't make sense until we found Diana Finch and Dyslexia Rescue. We had him evaluated and it turned out he was dyslexic. I still can't believe no one at the A-plus, highly regarded school saw this. Withing 9 months, he had passed kindergarten, passed 1st grade and was reading on his own, on a 2nd grade level before he finished 1st grade...and, he enjoyed it. Our other son, who had been doing very well in kindergarten, entered 1st grade, and started going backwards. I have many reasons to put this solely on his poor teacher, but at the end of the day, he, too, has caught back up and is reading to us! After further conversations with Diana, we realized the school they were in was not ideal for them, so we switched schools also. I honestly don't know where we'd be without Diana and Dyslexia Rescue. I can not thank her enough. One of my greatest joys right now is to sit back and listen to my boys read to me! We highly recommend Diana Finch and Dyslexia Rescue. Thank you, Diana

My son worked with Diana for the summer. He was failing 1st grade, had been remediated back to kg and was being evaluated for intervention or possibly ESE. Diana had the tools and knowledge to teach my son where others had been unsuccessful. His school was amazed at his progress when he returned for the new year. His comprehension and fluency when he returned was at or above grade. He will try to sound out large vocabulary on his own. Unfortunately the schools are not always equipped to deal with students who are unique learners, and my son didnt "get it" until Diana showed him the way. Our family is forever grateful for her compassion and teaching. I highly recommend her to everyone. We chose to forgo summer camps or sports and decided to make this an investment in my sons future, it was worth every penny! I'm so glad we did!
